2025/26 Competition Team Auditions

The auditions are judged by the studio owners and accredited alumni.

Competition Team Auditions for the 2025/26 Season

4pm: ages 9 & under

5pm: ages 9-13

6pm: ages 12+

If your age is listed twice, please audition twice.

Additional Information:

~ All returning team members must re-audition.

~ Dancers ages 12+ who were not actively training at the studio during the 2024/25 school year will not be eligible for any small group routines. This rule does not apply to dancers auditioning ages 11 & under.

~ NEW MINI TEAM WANTED! All dancers ages 6 & under are welcome!!!!

~ Emails will be sent out to new recruits who were in classes the 24/25 school year!

~ Not everyone who auditions makes the team.

~ Dancers will audition in lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, musical theater and open styles.

~ Arrive prepared! You will receive an audition number and you must be stretched and ready to go at the beginning of your audition time.

~ Dress to impress! Come wearing something where we can see your bodies move. No flouncy skirts, no baggy pants and be sure to have your hair UP.

~ No talking or fooling around. This is an audition.

~ Nothing is guaranteed from last season. There are new groupings and new ideas. Stage presence is VERY important at KDL.

Auditions will include but not be limited to:

ages 9 & under:

a combination to show choreography retention, a single/double pirouette, kicks, straight and side leaps, stage presence, floor work & more

ages 9-13:

Clean single, double & triple piourettes, straight & side leaps, missiles & other jumps, butterwheels, body rolls, bridges, scorpions, walkovers, switch leaps, a combination to show choreography retention, stage presence, floor work, aerials if you have & more

ages 13+:

A clean triple/quadrouple & 8-12 clean romberses, 8-12 clean fouettes, headsprings, diving front rolls, wackbacks, switch leaps, switch tilts, happilys, knee drops, front & back walkovers, diving walkovers, aerials, front handsprings, back handsprings, side switch leaps, combination for choreography retention, stage presence & more
