About Miss Kelly
Artistic director, Kelly Del Bueno has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Dance Education from The Ohio State University. Kelly has been dancing for over thirty years beginning at the age of two much like most of her students! She began studying at Broadway Dance Center when she was six years old and was offered a full scholarship to study with the legendary Frank Hatchett. She has trained at Broadway Dance Center and Dance Space, Inc. in NYC for over ten years as well as spending her summers at The Bates Dance Festival in Maine. She also attended the prestigious New York Summer School of the Arts at Skidmore College where she was selected to perform for the renowned choreographer Donald McKayle. Kelly has trained with such legends as Rennie Harris, Michael Foley,Clyde Evans, Jr, Katiti King, Richard Pierlon, Lucy Venable, Sue Samuels, Shonach Robles and more.
In high school, Kelly was a member of the Fine and Performing Arts Center program at Howell High School with a focus on dance and choreography. Kelly competed for over ten years and was a national champion in jazz, hip hop, lyrical, tap, modern and ballet. Her choreography has won countless awards at competitions with her competition team including Best Choreography, Most Entertaining, Most Innovative, Best Emotional Execution, as well as having the highest scoring soloists, duets, trios, groups and dances of entire weekends.
In college, Kelly performed professionally and also received her teaching certification. Kelly's Dance Loft was opened in December of 2009 with the love and support of her family. Kelly is the only teacher and choreographer to ensure that all dancers are receiving proper training. She loves teaching all ages, and disciplines. Kelly has been married for 17 years years and is the mother of two little girls, Sofia age 12 and Nikki age 9 who both began dancing at 2 years old at the studio and are current members of the competition team. Kelly hopes to spread her love of joy to dance with all the students that walk through the doors at the Loft.
